Another two and a half months, then the time has come! We present the first results of five years of research into the Sand Motor. September 14 is all about sharing knowledge and networking. On September 15 we will enter the Sand Motor and there will also be a program for general public.
Projectmanager Carola van Gelder explains the program: “On September 14 Helga van Leur is our chairman of the day. Then we present the highlights of the knowledge acquired from Rijkswaterstaat, the Province of South Holland, Ecoshape and the collaborating universities. In addition to myself, professor of coastal engineering Marcel Stive will also give a presentation on the scientific research program Naturecoast.”

‘In order to also hear the views of other experts on the study, we set up an international audit committee consisting of Todd Bridges (United States Army Corps of Engineers) Alison Baptiste (Environment Agency, UK), Hans Hanson (University van Lund, Sweden) and Henk Ovink (Water Envoy). We asked them to review our research reports. They will present their findings at the congress “
Carola continues: ‘In addition to the workshops in the afternoon, there is also room to network, to talk with the doctoral researchers in the Naturecoast Café and to visit the exhibition market, which includes the research instruments used for the Sand Motor and fossils that there have been excavated. Reason enough to be there in September! “
